The Same Story

Here is the address of another parent just beginning a blog about their addicted son. The story is the same as we have all gone through. It almost seems like our kids found a book titled "Using Drugs For Dummies", and follow it step by step religiously. . They all seem to follow the very same path of use behaviors and actions. It is uncannily similar to all I read in so may blogs.

I hear you...it's the same for my friends with a son who's going down the same path. It's so difficult to stay detached but detachment seems to be the best choice and the only place where there's a semblance of peace. Hang in there!

I was amazed when I first started reading other alcoholics and their experience with the progression of the disease. It was TEXTBOOK what my husband is going through. It is uncanny isn't it? Headed over there now.

Thank you for the link and the kind, supportive comments on my blog. I'm looking forward to reading through your archives later tonight. It's so true that drug addiction seems to follow a certain pattern, and the paths the drug addicts and their families follow are so eerily similar. Although it's saddening to know that other parents are going through the same hell as us, it is comforting to know that we are not alone. Take care.

Thanks for sharing. I found their blog a few weeks ago. I read today that Dash Snow died of an overdose over a week ago. I didn't know about his life but it seemed that he had a lot going for him, but chose drugs instead.

I didn't know of Dash Snow but I googled him and saw he was a very accomplished artist. Drugs stole the talent from another and deprived the world of his joy.

RIP, it is a sad end. How many more, how much more pain.
