An outcome of that posting is I have been ask to speak at a local support group called, Stand Up Parenting. This is a direct result of someone in that group reading my post and following up to see if I would speak to them. As a result I am achieving my goal of bringing this learning to my community and face to face with the personal interaction of parents.
I am issuing a personal invitation to all that read this blog near or far to come and watch Dad, stutter, stumble and fall in front of a group. We all need a little humility in our lives at some point. If you are able to join us the meeting is a week from tonight.

I understand, California vs Kansas weather in December. No brainer!!! Maybe you could find someplace that would bring me out there to presnt. LOL
Here's another Californian wishing I could be there to support your efforts, Dad! How wonderful to be able to turn a tragic happening into something helpful and educational to others. Kudos to you and you'll do a super job, I just know it!
The fact that you are getting the word out, and educating others is so inspirational. I wish I lived closer - wishing you the best on the first of hopefully many to come public speaking engangements!
I truly believe that is exactly what you are meant to do. You will do fine-- and I pray that you will be a voice to so many parents who need to hear your message. It's powerful.

I think all us Californians need to put our heads together and figure a way to get you out here to speak (and enjoy the weather). I have a friend in Leawood who's son is a former addict. I will let him know about this and maybe he can go on my behalf :)

You wanted to pass that learning on to others, and you have the knowledge, skills and talent to do so. I think this is just the beginning.
Amen on the video - would love to hear your talk. You will do fine. We all gain so much by just putting what we are learning out there, and reading/hearing what others are learning also. I think this is just wonderful. Bless you!

Sure wish we could be there - Like the others, I think this is something meant to be, and I don't see you stuttering. I also hope there is video that can be shared.

hi, this is the first time i've commented on your blog but i have been reading it for a while now. i live in edinburgh, scotland and i'm a support worker in a homeless hostel, mainly heroin users. i, thank god, have never used or been interested in using drugs but it is blogs like yours help me do my job better.
