Milestones

Yesterday Alex told his mother a bit of good news. On Nov. 8 he was released from probation. He is no longer on probation in ANY jurisdiction! He still owes a couple places money but he has payment plans with the courts that he follows religiously.

The steps are long to get back but they are worth all the effort.

Alex is an inspiration to many people. I'm not sure he realizes it or understands. I hear it from people all the time. I see people that know Alex or know him from this blog and the parting comment to me is always, "Please, tell Alex hi, and tell him I am happy for him and proud of him."

Dad and Mom are proud of him too.

add me in too ! What great news....aaah ! :) My son is almost, almost done with his last community service hours....and I'm anxious for him to say, "DONE". It's a relief for you too, I'm sure. Tell Alex we're ALL inspired by his recovery !! It gives so much hope to many others.

It is amazing. When our children find recovery the public's perception of them changes. They go from being one of the dregs of society to a beacon of hope and inspiration. Americans love a good "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" kind of story. Although those who understand recovery know this is not the way recovery works.
Way to go Alex!

I hope someday my daughter can follow in his footsteps. I found your blog when I really needed it and Alex has given me hope.

Recovery is long term its really one day at a time and Alex is on the right path!! I am very happy for him and believe ha can do it! I think Its really important to have a therapist, just someone you can talk to because we all encounter stresses and having that outlet to voice our concerns and worries and have someone tell you that its ok to feel that way. In the fact that Alex owes money can be very stressful but this debt can go away if he makes a plan and sticks to it maintaining a health level of stress. Good Luck to you Alex, my best hopes and wishes :)
