Anderson Cooper's New Show

I got an e-mail from a producer of Anderson Cooper's new show debuting on Sept. 12. They are looking for parents of addicts on the east coast, New York area or able to travel there on this Friday. She said they are doing a show on parents of addicts and would love to have parents in the audience to interact.

If you are close enough and interested here is Shana's, the producer, e-mail: shana.slutsky@andersoncooper.com

Here is her phone number: (212) 275-8929.

Shana ask me to publicize this to people reading my blog and
might have an interest in attending the show.

I'm in Kansas City. Too far away for me.

I also got the email. I like Anderson and am thrilled that he's bringing some attention to this. She didn't mention the east coast to me, she said it could be over the phone. I said I'd be interested but never heard back.

I got it too. I hope that they are successful in the effort to raise awareness. This country needs to come up with a new plan for the "war". Our present, albeit well-meaning, efforts are obviously not working.

How come I never get any of these emails? Somebody put me on that list...I want to be in the loop! I am in the NY/NJ area. This Friday September 12th is my birthday! It is also unfortunately my first week of classes, I can not ask for time off.

I am only 1.5 - 2 hours from NYC but believe it or not, even after all of this time, I think that would be too painful for me.

I heard from her also, and although I'm in Texas, this is an issue I hope gets publicized on Anderson's show... It has no geographical boundaries

OK, I spoke to Shana and I am going to be attending the taping along with a friend of mine who I have met after my son died, she also lost her son to heroin. The premise is basically a tribute to Amy Winehouse and her parents will be there speaking out about her addiction. We will be there to ask or answer questions regarding our own experiences, etc. So keep an eye out for me on Monday afternoon y'all! Im making my television debut!
